SEI Certified Helmets

SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) certification represents independent verification that helmets meet or exceed DOT FMVSS 218 safety standards. Each helmet in this collection has undergone rigorous third-party testing for impact absorption, penetration resistance, and retention system strength.

SEI Certification Standards

The Safety Equipment Institute conducts independent testing to verify compliance with federal safety requirements. SEI certified helmets are randomly selected from production lines and tested for:

  • Impact attenuation across multiple strike points
  • Penetration resistance using specified test equipment
  • Chin strap retention system strength and durability
  • Peripheral vision requirements (minimum 105 degrees each side)
  • Labeling accuracy and permanence

Why Choose SEI Certified Helmets

SEI certification provides independent confirmation of DOT compliance through ongoing testing and monitoring. Unlike self-certification, SEI approval requires manufacturers to submit helmets for random testing throughout production, ensuring consistent quality control and safety performance.

DOT and SEI Approval

All helmets in this collection carry both DOT FMVSS 218 approval and SEI certification. The SEI label inside the helmet confirms that the model has passed independent laboratory testing and continues to meet federal motor vehicle safety standards through regular production sampling.
